MME's Allison Clouthier Wins Award at World Congress of Biomechanics

PhD student Allison Clouthier

Congratulations to MME’s Allison Clouthier, who placed first in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (BioEngineering Division) Best Student Paper Competition at the World Congress of Biomechanics in Dublin this summer. Her first-place award was received for the Musculoskeletal Mechanics category, and the winner was selected based on the quality of podium presentations at the conference. Ms. Clouthier's abstract was titled, "A combined statistical shape modelling and musculosketal simulation approach to investigate the effect of patellofemoral geometry on joint mechanics in tibial tubercle osteotomy". It was a study using computational simulation to investigate how geometry of the patellofemoral joint can affect surgical outcomes.

Ms. Clouthier is supervised by Professor Michael Rainbow and Dean Deluzio. Congratuations!
