Nov 06, 2019 — Students Represent New Skeletal Observation Lab at Queen's Park Day
MME grad students representing the new Skeletal Observation Lab showed off 3-D printed bones at Queen’s Park Day in Toronto this past Monday, November 4th. The event was an advocacy day hosted by Queen’s at the Ontario Legislature and provided an opportunity to highlight Queen’s leadership, student success and research impact. Students spoke with elected officials and staff about their research from the dynamic x-ray lab.

Oct 29, 2019 — Opening of New Skeletal Observation Lab
Professor Michael Rainbow, the lab’s lead investigator, is behind the launch of this $2.5 million facility at Hotel Dieu Hospital that will allow researchers to learn more about the human skeleton – including injury and motion. The lab is supported by Queen’s University and the Kingston Health Sciences Centre.

Three new Queen’s Mechanical and Materials Engineering faculty members have received funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) through the 2019 Discovery Grants program. The grants total more than $20 million given to 100 Queen’s researchers to pursue research and innovation.
