Overview
The thermographic methods laboratory applies principles of heat transfer and digital image analysis to develop new and innovative thermographic methods for inspection and measurement.
Current projects include:
- use of thermography in the development of effusion cooling in gas turbine combustors
- development of thermographic techniques for the detection of insulation deficiencies in insulated and thermally protected rail tank-cars
