Welcome to Automotive Materials Research Group
The current focus of automotive materials research group is improving the mechanical properties, especially formability, of Advanced High Strength Steels (AHSS). This objective is pursued from the perspectives of:
- Variation of microstructure through thermo-mechanical processing and its effect on mechanical properties, in particular work hardening.
- Micro-structural morphology effects on damage formation
Current Projects
- Microstructure/mechanical properties relationship in dual-phase (DP) steels
- Investigation of the role of the martensitic phase in damage development in dual-phase steels using micro-focus X-ray tomography
