NSERC/W. R. Davis Engineering Ltd. Collaborative Research and Development

Energy Efficient Exhaust Systems for Gas Turbines and Diesel Engines

Overview

This new four year research program (starting Fall 2009) is funded by NSERC and W.R.Davis Engineering Ltd. of Ottawa, Canada. Davis is a world leader in specialized after market components for gas turbine and Diesel engines. This research program will focus on specialized exhaust components including air-air ejectors, hyper mixing nozzles, ejectors with water spray, film and effusion cooled nozzles and heat exchangers.

All of the projects will include scale model experimentation using either hot or cold flow wind tunnels. CFD studies will also be carried out on all projects using commercial CFD codes.
